Racing Details

I29 Speedway has both an 1/8 mile drag strip, a 2.2 mile long road course, AND a burnout pad that are used for racing events during Ice Cream Cruise! Below are some more details on the types of racing available for you can expect.

Drag Racing

All 3 days there are drag racing activities, we have different formats for each day, if you’re interested in racing in these, see further details below about class details and safety information.

  • Friday- Cash Shootout Classes + Test & Tune

  • Saturday Night - No Prep Race after the car show

  • Sunday - Open drag racing with free entry eliminations

Burnout Competitions

Competitive burnouts are one of the fastest growing motorsports events in the US, coming from the pro burnout world of Australia. I29 Speedway has a 100’x130’ skid pad that was freshly installed in 2024 that took things to the next level! We have three different formats and 4 different competitions during the weekend:

  • Friday - Skid pad qualifying for Saturday’s big skid pad show

  • Saturday - Skid pad competition for a big cash prize

  • Sunday - Powerskid competition (longest burnout without using your brakes) + Joe Hunt Memorial static burnout contest to finish the show in the burnout box on the drag strip

Roll Racing

Sunday on the road course straight away we have roll racing where cars will stage around 40mph side by side and race for approximately 1000ft going the opposite direction of drag racing, watching this from the grand stands is a very unique experience! It’s our most popular racing segment, selling out within minutes of opening registration!
